The NHL has always done things like this and continues to do so until they realize that the fan base will decrease.

I sometimes think it’s a question of lack of thinking by certain sportsman, like Avery that they become bigger than the actual sport (in their minds that is)

I agree that the NHL wasn’t smart with the way they didn’t think of exposure for the Avery situation, but I guess they don’t want drama in the league. I also cannot stand Avery.

The guy is a good hockey player, but its behavior like the stuff noted in this post that makes him a cancer to the teams he plays on.

Avery is always stirring things up… It’s what he does best.

Now that he’s back on the ice, he’s actually playing well (never thought I’d say that!).

Don’t these guys in NHL understand that they are drawing away not only public attention acting like this, but their own profit as well?
