The Avs played the final game of the season tonight, and it looks like I picked a good one to go to. I have pictures, but I have to sort them. Again I picked a good one to go to, as the Avs won 6-3. At first, it looked like they were going to phone it in, but picked up the pace in the second period.
A few notes:
Scott Parker (Heart and Soul) got a goal tonight.
Ian Laperriere kicked the crap out of Dion Phaneuf. It was sweet to watch.
Joe Sakic got three points in the game, giving him 100 points on the season. Just incredible.
Overall, a great way to finish out the season. I’ll have more later, I have to go catch a flight.
Note: Trolls can go home. That is all.

Joe Sakic is a god! Good to see you caught the last game. Did the Avs get a standing ovation after the game?
zan – You know the crowd did, and the Avs gave a nice salute back to the crowd. I was actually a little choked up at the end of the game. If it weren’t for the cleaning staff, I could have sat there for a good, long while.
It was nice to see Sakic get the #1 star and the way the team greeted the crowd. I still can’t believe there won’t be any live playoff hockey for me to watch. Sigh.
Yeah buddy! They fought hard and didn’t stop after their playoff dreams were ended. There’s a reason I love this team, and its not just talent, not just being a hometown fan. I couldn’t agree more about your Forsberg sentiments. Sakic, Hejduk and Forsberg…its a shiny, beautiful dream I’d love to see live again:)
SAKIC SIGNS!!!
Happy day:)
