Happy Winter Classic Day

Happy New Year, everyone. It’s been a hard couple of weeks for me as I train for a new job out here on tour, and have been pouring in hours of study and hard work for the gig. It’s been taking time away from my hockey watching, but in the end, it’s going to be well worth it. A return to regular hockey viewing should happen soon enough. Plus, I’ve been sick, so it’s been a trying week.

Today is a strange Tuesday off, and so I get to feed the hockey beast today, plopped down on the couch to see the Winter Classic. Having a cup of coffee in my hand rather than a beer feels strange, but I think I’m going to make it. It’s fun to think that if any hockey bloggers are watching hockey at the time, it’s this game they are watching. It’s a strange sense of community, but it’s there. Viva hockey blogging!!!!

The Stanley Cup will not be making an appearance at the Winter Classic, since I just saw it on a float with Brad May at the Tournament of Roses Parade. If it is there, someone has a copy.

CBC has started their coverage, and there are plenty of blue empty seats to with a half hour to puck drop. It look cold as hell, and feeling as bad as I have this past week, I’m glad I wasn’t able to score tickets.
Wether this turns out to be a gimmick or not is about to be found out. Happy Hockey Day!!!!
